Looking for an easy option for guests on football day? This DIY football charcuterie board is easy to put together and looks so cute, too.

Please tell me you are a football fan.

Oh, good.

Me, too.

Who is your team?

Who do you root for?

We are all about Baylor football around here (in sad news, they are not doing that well this year—we are crossing all ten fingers and toes that we win enough to make it to a bowl game).

Even though we aren’t winning, I still love watching the games. There’s something about fall and football and crisp days and the holidays just around the corner and sweater weather that are linked forever in my mind.

My entire family is football fans. My mother and brothers and sisters and cousins and husband and sons and daughters are all in on field goals and touchdowns and extra points and the eternal optimism of an onside kick in the last seconds of the game.

So today?

To celebrate this weekend?

I put together the CUTEST (and easiest) football charcuterie board.

A smiling woman with long blonde hair holds a football charcuterie board featuring cheese, pepperoni, crackers, pretzels, cucumbers, and nuts in a kitchen decorated with white pumpkins.

DIY Football Charcuterie Board

ingredients:

Pepperoni

Sliced Sharp Cheddar Cheese

Sliced Swiss Cheese

Pepper Jack Cheese Sticks

Club Crackers

Buttery Round Crackers

Mozzarella Cheese

Mini Twist Pretzel

Walnuts

A woman with blonde hair, wearing a tan sweater, sits at a kitchen counter assembling a football charcuterie board, placing pepperoni slices on a wooden board. Plates with cheese and crackers are on the counter, with white pumpkins on shelves behind her.

1. Start with a large cutting board

On a large cutting board or oversized tray, create a football in the center with the pepperoni. Start laying the pepperoni on one end and overlap the pieces of pepperoni until you have the football.

You can adjust the size of the football and charcuterie depending on how many football fans are attending the party.

Do NOT overthink this.

Your guests will oooh and ahhh, even if your football isn’t perfect.

2. Cut pepper jack cheese

Cut the pieces of pepper jack cheese long ways in half.

Place two pieces down the center of the football, and then add smaller pieces on either side to mimic the stitches on the front of the football.

Your football will look SO MUCH more like a football with those cheese strings.

3. Fill in the rest of the charcuterie board

Round out the rest of your charcuterie board with some of your favorite munchy snacks.

I added cucumbers for color (and a healthy snack option) and pretzels and walnuts and cheese and crackers.

They are perfect to go along with the pepperoni.

I made this little video so you could see how I put it all together.

Here are some of my best charcuterie tips:

  1. Start with an oversized board that’s flat on all sides (or with a slight rim around the edges). It’s so much easier to keep adding snacks if you have the space.
  2. Add snacks in odd numbers. The board looks more purposeful.
  3. Offer a variety of snacks—both healthy and tasty.
  4. Make sure your guests can layer your snacks. For example, here, the pepperoni pairs with the cheese and crackers or the cucumbers.
  5. Add bowls with dips to your charcuterie board for more options.
  6. Check the board periodically during the party to see if it needs refilling.

Have you tried making a charcuterie board before?

This is the PERFECT one to start with.

Good luck to your team, and this is the perfect thing to serve at your next football get-together.

Here’s to football and charcuterie boards that are fun and cute, and taste amazing all at the same time. 🙂

Your charcuterie board is so fun. Great for a football game which I am not a fan of anymore. Living alone makes you remember, there are so many things to do for yourself instead of watching football. But I surely appreciate someone who adores watching. Enjoy.

We are an all SEC family. My husband played football at University of Tennessee in the 60's..our children went to University of Alabama and our grandchildren go to Tennessee, Alabama and University of Georgia...It's alot of fun at our homes on game day and I gave to wear lots of colors...we love to tail gate and have lots of food at the house...

Love it! I actually have a large green platter marked as a football field with football shaped bowls to accompany it...the only downside is that you can't see how cute they are until after you eat all the snacks 😂. So I shall have to make your pepperoni football in the center to make it look cute before and after eating! Happy football and tailgating, happy fall and sweater weather, and happy Halloween today!

Interested in the blue Christmas ornaments! My husband, 2 of 3 sons, and myself are Baylor alums. So we care about the Bears and keep up with them even tho we're in Tennessee. Homecoming at Baylor is like no other place. So much going on, so many people, so much fun. Sic'em Bears! I made my first charcuterie board several Thanksgiving's ago. My family literally at it up. They're fun and always seem to add interest to the food table. I love Fall, football, sweaters, hot chocolate, firepits with s'mores, beautiful red, yellow and orange trees, and falling leaves. Hope your Fall is Happy!
