Several small, decorative wooden houses and barns, painted red and white, are displayed on white shelves with metal brackets, against a pegboard wall.

It’s starting.

The event we’ve been working and planning and hoping and dreaming about is HAPPENING.

We’ve been working on our booth for the last couple of days, and today is the first day of Vintage Market Days in McKinney.

If you are local?

It’s at Myers Park and Event Center in McKinney.

But if you aren’t local?

I thought it would be fun to take a tour of the booth.

(total aside: this is our first booth EVER and we are still trying to figure it out and just between us? We aren’t really sure what we are doing. Hee hee. I just wanted to manage expectations before I took you on a tour.)

And now?

Here’s our 2025 Vintage Market Days Booth.

A festive market stall displays various Christmas decorations, including miniature trees, ornaments, and holiday signs. Baskets and pillows with holiday messages are arranged on and under a round white table.

Here’s what you see when you walk up to the front of the booth.

Just like our shop? It’s a whole lot of handmade.

There are some FANCY booths here with FANCY signs and elaborate setups (which are amazing). But here at Thistlewood & Co? We are a little more DIY. I cut out the letters for our sign out of cardstock and hung them from ribbons. For our backdrop, we are using pegboard walls that my husband and his father built.

A framed shadow box displays a three-dimensional, green, paper-crafted Christmas tree with layered branches, set against a white background and placed on a wooden surface near a wicker basket.

A festive display with Christmas-themed decorations, including miniature trees, houses, framed art, garlands, baskets, and festive pillows, arranged on tables and shelves in a holiday market setting.

Here’s the table that you see when you walk up to the booth.

Everything you see here is from our shop and our makers.

For example, this cut paper art is from one of our favorite makers.

A festive display featuring a decorated felt Christmas tree with numbered pockets, red and white stockings, miniature houses, wooden trees, and baskets on a red checkered tablecloth.

A Christmas tree decorated with small, colorful, numbered knit stockings, likely for an advent calendar. In the background are white ornaments and miniature gingerbread-style house decorations.

We have two pegboard walls and this bookcase in the corner that’s full of gingerbread houses.

And these amazing felted advent calendars.

And these wood Christmas trees.

A wicker basket filled with gold jingle bells and cards sits on a red and white checkered tablecloth. Christmas decorations, including ornaments, a stocking, and a white tree, are displayed in the background.

A festive holiday display with a red and white checkered tablecloth, baskets of ornaments and cookies, white reindeer decorations, and a small chalkboard sign. In the background are Christmas decorations and greenery.

I added these plastic tablecloths and we all have matching aprons that are red and white striped.

I’m working the booth with Courtney and Westleigh and my sister Whitney came in for the weekend.

Whitney has done tons of shows and craft events so she spent yesterday evaluating the booth and offering super helpful advice that I may or may not have taken.

I”m stubborn when it comes to displays.

(total aside: Whitney, I did end up putting all the sparkly trees together so if they don’t sell you can tell me you were right).

A festive holiday display with wooden Christmas trees, mini houses, colorful yarn wreaths, felted ornaments, and baskets on a red and white checkered tablecloth. Decorations feature red, white, and natural wood tones.

A wicker basket filled with festive decorations, including red, green, and white felt ball garlands and candy cane ornaments, sits on a table. Wooden holiday decor and a Christmas tree are in the background.

A plush toy snake with green patchwork scales is coiled in a wicker basket. The snake has a felt body and is surrounded by other soft stuffed items, including one with pink ears on the left.

A wicker basket filled with holiday decorations sits on a table, surrounded by wooden house and tree-shaped ornaments. Decorative balls, candy cane figures, and red ribbon add festive touches. White ornaments are displayed in the background.

A festive market stall displays various Christmas decorations, including miniature trees, ornaments, and holiday signs. Baskets and pillows with holiday messages are arranged on and under a round white table.

We are so excited for today.

If you are in the area or you are shopping Vintage Market Days come by and say hi—we’ve love to see you.

And if you aren’t local?

No worries.

Everything that doesn’t sell (and we have tons more to restock that we didn’t share here) will be added to the shop and we are having a 20% off sale for Black Friday.

Here’s to a handmade holiday. 🙂

I wish I lived closer to visit this faire of yours. The displays look great with all those handmade items. Maybe I can get out of the snow fall and rain here in Nevada, the only good thing is the ski resorts opened early.🚠⛷️🎿

Good luck today. I'm guessing you might sell out! Everything is not only lovely, but it's original. Collectibles that anyone who loves Christmas would want. I didn't see any of the RL plastic ornaments. I made some and love them. They are going to be little gifts for friends and family. Thank you for the tutorial. Karen B.

Hi KariAnne, I was in wholesale most of my life and set up and designed up to 10 big booths with my husband. Setting up and tearing down is a lot of work. The planning ahead can take four months. Everything was done on paper by my husband. 300 boxes to un pack then pack up again is HUGE. This was your first trade show, give your selves a big pat on the back for a nice looking booth. Your hubs and his father did so well. What a great team, you all need give yourselves a big pat on the back. Hope you make lots of sales. I live in AZ so will not be able to attend. Otherwise I would be there to support you.
